THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
The Riles Cancer Foundation was born from love, loss, and a deep commitment to honoring a life well lived.

Jeffrey C. Riley was a Toledo firefighter, paramedic, rescue diver, devoted father, and one of those rare people who made every room better just by being in it. Over three decades with the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, he rose to Lieutenant, earned the nickname "River Rat" on the dive team, and kept serving as a Fire Inspector after retirement in 2017.

In May 2025, Jeff lost his battle with cancer. He was 64. Like far too many firefighters before him, he faced one of the hidden consequences of a life spent serving others.
​
The Riles Cancer Foundation was created to honor his memory by doing what Jeff himself always did: showing up for others. We raise funds to support firefighters and their families as they face cancer — covering costs, easing burdens, and making sure these heroes know they are not fighting alone.
​
Because firefighters give everything to protect their communities. The least we can do is show up for them when they need us most.
